Celebrating Health Care Innovation in Connecticut
Health care innovation has the potential to dramatically improve outcomes, quality of life and lower employer and employee health care costs. Our June general membership meeting will be focused on:
- Educating our members on why we should care about health care delivery reform
- Celebrating Connecticut health care providers who are taking innovative approaches to improving health care value
- Identifying potential employer / provider health care innovation pilots in Connecticut

Over the past 35 years --- from Boston to Brussels, London to Little Rock,
Peoria to Paris and Harrisburg to Havana, Cuba --- Michael Samuelson has
lectured on leadership, health promotion, patient experience, health policy,
disease prevention and the dynamics of behavior change. An author of five
books and numerous articles on leadership and behavior change, his work has
been featured on the ABC News program, 20/20, The CBS Morning Show, CNN
and MSNBC as well as numerous national print publications including The New
York Times, Boston Globe, The Lancet, Employee Benefit News, Business
Week and USA Today.

- Health Care Innovation
- Lowe’s, Boeing - Lowe’s and Boeing have executed successful innovative approaches to improving health care value. Their two experiences will be described.
- Connecticut Innovators - CTBGH has invited Connecticut health care providers to submit nominations describing innovative initiatives that have positively impacted employer and participant health care value through higher quality, lower cost, or increased presenteeism. All nominees will be recognized, and two will be selected (by a committee representing businesses, health care providers, state government, and the non-profit health foundation community) to present at our meeting.
